We are a federally-recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue located in rural southwestern West Virginia headquartered in Mingo County near the Kentucky border. We primarily rescue dogs but do occasionally also intake cats.

Right now we only have two foster homes, so that seriously limits what we can intake.
To request to surrender a dog to us, please text Jessica at 304-784-6678. Include 3 good photos of the dog as well as information about how it is around other dogs and adults/children. If the dog has any signs of aggression with humans or dogs, we cannot take it. We mostly rescue dogs and only take in a very few cats. If the cat is pregnant or has kittens, there’s a better chance we can find a rescue to take it. Jessica lives in a very rural area. The text is more likely to reach her during the business day. Sometimes texts do not get through to her phone at home.
All dogs surrendered to us must be good with dogs and people, no food/toy guarding/aggression issues. No dogs with bite histories. If they are not good with livestock, we may be able to assist.
Our volunteers work full time day jobs. We are not animal control and we do not have a shelter, so you can’t drop animals off to us today and we can’t come out now and pick up strays. The Mingo County dog warden can be reached at 304-235-0252. We are not affiliated with county animal control. Please call them directly for strays or to find out if they have picked up your dog. As far as we know, they do not intake cats but you can ask the dog warden about that when you call.

We are located in Mingo County in southwestern West Virginia near the star in our logo.
Our rescue works in rural southwestern WV and southeastern KY. We do not rescue from outside the area.
We are accepting VERY FEW animals until we can find some new foster homes. No one in our area seems to want to offer to foster, they just ask us to intake animals.
We do not do direct adoptions locally. We intake and vet and assess dogs and then place them with our thoroughly-screened partner rescues in the northeast where their chances at adoption are much higher due to higher population density.
