Update: Buddy was adopted on 1/31! Happy tails, Buddy!
Buddy is a young adult Chihuahua, possibly purebred but we have no way to know for sure. He looks very much like the breed though. He weighs just about 10 lb.
He loves squeak toys, femur bones, and tennis balls. He is good with other dogs and has played with gentle dogs in foster from 10 lb up to 30 lb. He enjoys running and playing with other dogs out in the yard (even in the cold) and snuggling under soft warm blankets to sleep. He also likes to sleep in your lap under a blanket.
Buddy wants to bark at our cat and our cat thinks he’s annoying so he’s probably not a good fit for cats. He’s not fully housebroken yet but is crate trained and sleeps in his crate overnight to avoid night time accidents.
We’re seeking a home for him with adopters who work part time or different shifts so he’s not alone for 8+ hours a day. Any children in the home must be age 10 and up. Since he’s only a year old, please take into account that Chihuahuas can live quite a long time, so make sure you’re up for (and will be around for) the next 15+ years for him. He’s already lost one home through no fault of his own and when we place him, we want it to be for the rest of his life.
Please submit an application if you would like to meet Buddy. He is fostered in northeastern Pennsylvania.
